Why join Traveling Team?
Well, I could go on for hours why you should, but for the sake of time I'll just say a few things. Going through the process of applying and preparing to go overseas now, I have seen the value of my 3 years as a Traveler with TTT over and over again. In fact, I see it as one of the best things I could have done to prepare me for moving overseas.
Three years of talking with students, mission agencies, missionaries, and staffing IT Projects has given a deeper and more realistic perspective on missions than I had before. Becoming a missionary isn't simply an emotional high anymore- I feel that I'm walking into it with deeper convictions, more realistic expectations, and a more mature perspective. Life in the van with your team has to be one of the closest experiences of being on a team overseas there is! You learn various mission agencies, which helps you choose one more confidently. You also learn to be flexible, adapt to change, and adjust to new environments quickly. Having come from one campus ministry background, TTT exposed me to different ways of doing ministry, reaching people, and worshiping God. The picture of the Church was broadened through all the people we met and worked with!
This is just the tip of the iceberg, but I truly can't imagine how different things would have been if I'd gone overseas without these 3 years preparing and equipping me.
